Merry-Go-Round - Original Haiku (Original Photography)
Merry-go-rounds,
were once all that mattered.
A child's joy - wish I still had.
Looking back to the times when the little things mattered.
The toys mama bought; the days at the park.
The swings that swung one to happy land.
The rides that made the the world go round.
The times when a broken heart, candy could fix.
The times when the little things were all that mattered.
I miss the days.
The days when problems lasted for minutes.
I miss the spark.
The spark I felt when I see a toy.
I miss the times.
The times when I wake and think of how to have fun.
But still,
I look ahead.
A Haiku is a short Japanese Poem consisting of 3 lines.
Traditionally, Japanese haikus consist of 17 syllables, in three phrases of five, seven and five syllables respectively. Among contemporary poems Teikei (fixed form) haiku continue to use the 5-7-5 pattern while Jiyuritsu (free form) haiku do not.
