TIDES OF CHANGE

Harsh waves roll in from afar
Slowly they pound upon the jagged stone
Its sharp edges are jaded with passion and desire
Aggressively standing tall it boldly resists those it encounters
Sometimes cutting deep until blood rains hard
As time marches its lethal corners slowly yield
Not too harsh to hold it fits comfortably in a pocket
Eventually its faces blend and edges disappear
Until left behind is a soft and smooth exterior
The water caresses as it flows carefree across its back
The once ridged unyielding rock has emerged from its cocoon
Unfazed by a world that it could never control
After years of conflict and struggle it's finally at peace
