The boot does slow you down. I slipped on ice and needed surgery to repair it. 7 years before, I slipped on ice and broke my right ankle. That one needed surgery too. I like to think I now have ankles of steel.

I've worn a boot like that before. Once on my left foot, once on my right. Stress fractures of my metatarsals from running too much. Ugh!
