Two seeds
Two seeds

I.
The hybrid day,
set over its own funeral.
Two worlds,
yet neither for me.
The track is clear and faded at turns,
covered by leaves alive or set free.
II.
The bud of hope, harangued by reason:
emerges, shrinks, now silent sings.
Beneath the frost-scarred weed, compassion—
life turned cold, a mome unsure
for hearts to seize their blis'tring wings.

I am beginning to have nightmares with train tracks in them.
If we had trains in this part of my country, they’d look exactly like those; actually, worse because the vegetation would not be as nice.
The duality imposed by the title works its way into the two poems dividing and uniting at the same time.
Two seeds, like the biblical allegory, that may land on either fertile or sterile surfaces, that may live or die.
The hybridity of the day that contains light and shades, heat and cold, nicely illustrate our own nature.
We are inherently hybrid. Male and female, good and evil, physical and spiritual.
The hybrid is neither one thing or the other; it wants to be both.
The image gives us that perfect division of light and darkness, life and death. The tracks are covered by both. The tracks are both.

I remember commenting another post some days ago about heart and reason (razón y corazón) and I was saying then how interesting it is that in Spanish the word heart contains the word reason, which provides all kinds of possible combinations, interpretations positions and suppositions.
In this case, it seems that the poem privileges the voice of the heart; the impetuous impulses that sometimes are so needed when we lose hope and become stagnated. Reason in this case provides nothing but restrain repression.
Once the flourishing ideas and excitement turns cold, it is too late for haranguing tongues to reconsider.
Two seeds, two sources, two worlds and the hybrid that lies in the middle is not satisfied with either, because it has crossed the barrier of both and, although consciousness calms the frustration of not belonging anywhere, there always arises concern for the vivid double vision because the hope of expanding the horizon, shrinks.
Thank you for a lucid response @zeleiracordero. Hugs :-)
Kisses!
Sweet, d-man :) Happy Thanksgiving & may your heart always be radiant with Hope
_/|\_You callin' me a demon? :-P Good to hear from you Yahia, hope you have a great Thanksgiving yourself :-) Namaste!
Only if I say it with a Jamaican accent :P But, what's a poet without a demon or two? May angels (continue to) watch over you.
_/|\_Dear @d-pend sir!
Two seeds are like two tracks of railways, which always walk together but never meet each other. Happiness and misery hope brings disappointment, good bad, virtuous sin, physical spiritual and good and evil souls contained in us, all of which show values in human life. Actually, it is like the two aspects of life that inspire us to choose the right wrong. I admire your original poetry and photography.
Thanks for your musing in paradox @certain. I'm positive the negative impression of images hold great uglybeauty.

Finding our place sometimes means just accepting we are not static.
For the first few years in Korea I really missed Thanksgiving. I've gotten used to working on this Thursday now and should consider myself thankful to have a job.
It definitely helps us realize how important gratitude in the moment is. Every instant has a specific hue that is totally unique, irrespective of how good/bad we categorize it.
Having a good job is definitely something to be thankful for :-)
Thank you. That is a colorful way to think about it :-)
@d-pend,
Caught between two worlds, in the No Man's land between ... belonging to both, and because of that ... neither.
BTW, where did you find those railway tracks ... they look Civil War era.
