Whole wide world just turned away. [poetry] (with translation)
मुद गई ये दुनिया
आँखें खोलते-खोलते
गुजार दिए जवानी
बेवजह हँसते-हँसते
मंजिल तो मिला नहीं
रह गए रस्ते पर लेकिन पांव
दुखने लगे दौड़ते-दौड़ते
कल की बेहतर खोज में
आज को बर्बाद कर दिए
काम करते-करते
गम ने ऐसा नाता जोड़ा
पूरी रात गुजर गई
बस रोते-रोते।।
Whole wide world just turned away
While slowly my eyes did open
Youthful times of ours we squandered
Laughing for no purpose, reason
Goals unearned, destination unreached
Left on the road, our journey incomplete
Legs though sore from all that running
Search we did for a better tomorrow
Today, yet, we left in ruins
While our time we did spend "working"
Kinship formed with anguish such:
The whole night was spent
Just weeping, sobbing, crying, bawling.
