In The End, People Leave {A Poetry By Tracy Et Aduragbemi}
I thought we would be there for each other through thick and thin
What a shallow understanding in our perception of things!
We started out together with hopes and promises to stick around each other forever
What a great picture of a future we'd painted just to realize too soon we were fated asunder
Though together was with great pleasure; I'd hoped that none of us would take a leave
So limited an understanding we had about this; In the end, people leave.

Can you still look me in the eye after this years of longing
For a glimpse of memories though not perfect, yet worth remembering
Will our ties stay broken and forgotten like a diction
Carved out from the middle of nowhere, perhaps a little regression
Will help pave way for reserved retribution
What if all this time, all we've ever had was a deranged vision.

Living in promises and hope for a brighter future, everything seemed perfect
We moved with rhythms like the chirping made by a cricket;
Reaching out to each other, we kept each other's faith alive
Basking in our wavering faith, still we kept our promises with weird vibes
Letting angers slide, letting out our minds and thoughts
We feign perfection, forgetting the parts that are tough.
TRACY
Who knows tomorrow, who knows what's certain?
Shall I express my dissatisfaction at this game
Life has it set before us, but shall I unleashed the pain felt?
Since when does it feel so wrong to connect?
I gaze the stars repeatedly wishing this dilemma away
People leave that I know all too well, but I really hoped at least one finally stays.
