Comfort
by Paul Turner

Bring it on, the peace that comfort brings, and remember it through senseless moments.
You can carry a down comforter with you.

Comfort is a kindness.
We take comfort in the words and deeds of others, and yet sometimes give comfort to our enemies, or so it is said.

I vote for the reliable comforts: the cherished photo in the wallet, chats at bus stops, friends, the office chairs we prowl and commandeer, or buy on credit, and welcome phone calls.

Life is catch-as-catch-can, and pain is often sprung on us.

Comfort depends on personal thresholds: relief from a worsening asthmatic attack, cold water splashed on a sweaty face, a quiet walk before crappy days.

You may be comfortable in your own skin, and count your blessings.
Comfort is mercy.

Nice and very deep poem Paul. My perspective is that comfort is a great feeling that helps me stay grounded. We the mortals take things for granted and at times we don't enjoy the everyday life comforts. Comfort can be as simple as feeling the wind on my face, or drinking water very fast when I'm so thirsty. I vote for these reliable comforts: a child discovering a cereal box prize, my dog excited about getting a milk bone to then hide it, and the comfort of my bed on a stormy night.
By the way, keep up the good writing; your poem can be very comforting to a lot of people.
