thanks @virtus-q the lens made all the difference as did the weather ! I'm not sure I see Zoos as living museums and I think their role is rapidly changing from entertainment and education - to education and conservation. Zoos may provide an escape route from extinction for many vulnerable species and when humans get their act together and realise the importance of ecosysytem interdependence, perhaps we'll do more to protect and preserve their habitats !
