Musings XXII
You don’t need a change in year to give yourself motivation. That’s something you should be seeking all on your own.
People have said it time and time again that they weren’t able to reach their goals by the end of the year. It’s become a joke to most and heartbreaking for some.
Many posts made by friends listed their disappointments and regrets. I want to sit beside them and give them a push in the right direction but that’s not what everyone wants. I don’t do well with attention seeking but I feel at easing knowing that they’ll eventually get there with time.
What people need to realize is that the journey starts when you’re ready. You need to be honest and set realistic goals within an attainable timeframe. Several years may pass but it’s your time so there shouldn’t be a need to stress. Remember, it’s not a competition.
As an artist, I know that my journey could last a lifetime. I look forward to it and I have no problem sharing my faults as I go. I am content with life but it would be a lie to say that there isn’t much more that I want. I’m greedy.
I want to have that sense of accomplishment, thinking to myself that this was what I’ve been waiting for. What will I be doing? When and where will that be? It’s thrilling to not know the answers but feel that everything is possible.
Beautifully put.... every day is a clean slate and we only get one chance at this life, let’s do it all!!!!

New Year’s Day is kinda like any other day for me. It was alright. :)

Thank you! I love our home and I’m a big collector. We have a friend that has a gorgeous spirit room which took him 20 years to fill. I’m trying to get on his level so I’ve been loading up boxes of stuff to make room for all the knickknacks I’ve been purchasing.
Was going to say this too! She sets the scenery up to be as beautiful as the model. Add candlelight and it's entrancing.
That's it, many people do revolutions for the new year but I don't, I know what I want and I go for it, but if I come short of it, then I'd continue again.

I think a lot of people lose themselves when they begin to compare their journey with journeys of others. Then it feels like competition. They see that some might have gone further and give up or get frustrated that they have still long way to go.

The artist survives with support. To be liked. And you're doing this well. The photos smell of quality with more. I guess no one can say I do not like it.
Actually we are artists here at Steemit in every unit. We're all doing it to be appreciated. I like sharing so much ... I want to see more. That's why I will follow you.

This post manages to be relaxing and motivating at the same time. You remind me that pushing too hard towards a goal is more likely to end in frustration, and that sometimes it's better to relax and let our desires steer us towards what we really want to do. There's a push-pull between picking our resolutions and letting them choose us.
Greedy is such a guilty word. It's a mad grand world out there and it's natural you should want to taste more of it. I wouldn't call that greedy so much as hungry.
And how boring would it be if you already had everything you wanted?
