Ripening Viburnum Berries (Original Photos)
Viburnum lantana is a large deciduous shrub. This plant is a little like his cousin, Viburnum opulus. The bush grows up to 6 meters in height. Lives about 60 years. The length of dense leaves can reach 15 cm.
In Autumn bush looks very beautiful, as the leaves turn pink. Viburnum lantana blooms in early summer. The bush is covered with a huge amount of white with a creamy shade of flowers. Flowering lasts 2-4 weeks.
At first berries are green, then red, poured. Gradually their color becomes richer, darker, and finally goes to black. Berries can be eaten.
Viburnum lantana grows in deciduous forests. Often these shrubs can be seen in parks, squares. I took these photos at the Botanical garden.
