Mission San Luis Rey, Set 8

This is, I think, the final set of photographs I took at this site. Mission San Luis Rey, just north of San Diego, is a wonderful place to spend some time. I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of the architecture and historical artifacts I have presented. There are more here from the interior of the mission as well as some wooden items, including pillars, a crucifix, and some crosses that probably adorned the walls in the various rooms. The friars themselves may not have used the cannons and other weapons, but sometimes in their estimation the missions needed to be defended from hostile tribes in the region, and weapons also may have been used by soldiers protecting the overall settlement.
