Happy 4th of July

in #photography7 years ago

Happy 4th of July to my fellow Americans. I hope you have a safe and Happy Independence Day.
I have never taken pictures of fireworks with a good camera before. Last night we went out so I could practice a little bit. Because I have to hurry and make this post I don't have time to go into the mega data and double check what my settings were, but the settings suggested didn't give me the best photos, I also didn't have a clear line of view, but will tonight at a better location, I only got one half way decent shot out of the ones I took. But I think I got some pretty cool effects anyways. Many of the photos turned out trippy. Here are a few of the trippy pictures, I got a new tripod, I was still working on figuring out how to adjust it to the angle I wanted it. Though now I know how to adjust it. (Tips to newbies, play with it before going out at night to use it)

And the one that turned out the best

There was so many things wrong with this shoot. First hearing the fireworks going off and deciding to try to go get practice shots. 2 not being close enough to the fireworks, 3 not figuring out how the tripod's head adjusted before going, so I was trying to steady it with my hand, which is why I got such trippy effects. Finally with the last photo, I had it adjust properly but I still don't have the setting right on my camera to get the effect I want, but I will get there. I also have learned that a setting that works good for one camera might be slightly different on a different make and model camera, I am gonna adjust my speed to the middle of what was suggested by two really good photographers and see if that will give me what I am going for tonight.

When I have some time I will post the mega data about the photos in the comments. Right now my husband is rushing me to come along, as we have stuff to do. Till then everyone Have a Happy 4th of July.

Really is very beautiful

Thank you very much. I thought the effects was cool not hat I wanted but my best friend keeps telling me the best art is accidental. So....

Yes @tecnosgirl, you know that for a good fireworks photos tripod is a necessity. Here are a few tips from a pro photographer on that subject:

But your photos really made an interesting light effect that should be seen. Upvoted, resteemed & DPS.

Please state clearly how would you like to be featured in the “Daily Photo Selection”: with a linked photo, or with link only without a photo. We are making a list of photographers who are ready to improve the visibility of their work through the DPS. Thank you.

a linked photo would be fine, I am so excited I have texted two of my friends who are also here on Steemit to tell them.

happy 4th love the pics and yes the accidental trippy one is art for sure truly enjoying seeing the progression of your new passion you'll figure it out its what you do

Have to say I really like these trippy one its a nice effect.

thank you I like them too

I feel sorry for the native americans who are living in reservoirs

I still have family that live on reservations and I really hope they are not living in reservoirs as that is a body of water.

Cool pics. So does your community do Fireworks twice? You say you went out last night and going out again tonight. After I shot firework pics last year I thought about the things I could improve on and the next chance to try is the following year.

Different places do them around here, the city did them last night and the casino does them today but the neighboring town 5 minutes away also does them tonight

I can only say happy 4th of july to you @tecnosgirl

Happy 4th July!! Like the different ways you've captured the fireworks. The fifth one is my favourite. Keep clicking... :)
