Fogs and blogs

in #photography5 years ago

Someone decided it would be a great idea if we took photos at sunrise in Krakow (looking at you @llfarms) and since that is not too long after the time we would generally head back to the AirBnB, I thought why not. I knew it would be very foggy as it had been the entire time we were there and it was beautiful through the streets of the Jewish quarter. This time though, we decided to walk along the river to see what we could see.

I love shooting in fog as it gives a shroud of mystery and eeriness to the images. The other thing it does is balloons the light effects and in so doing, creates very soft fades between light points. It isn't for everyone though and the cold isn't the most pleasant experience but being from Finland, it was summery for me.

These shots are cropped down to 16:9 but are otherwise unprocessed so far because as you know by now, my PC is in the office / babyroom and is inaccessible. One day, one day we will have a place that has enough room for a tiny little office. I don't need much, just a corner tucked away somewhere that is quiet and usable 24/7.

Speaking of 24/7, one thing that I have got to be stricter with is my sleeping schedule. It is time that I start getting my health in some kind of order and I am going to try posting more during the day instead of staying up until 4 am. I was surprised in Poland though that I held up so well considering the intense schedule and liquid diet.

Over the next few weeks I am hoping to throw some ideas out into the community that are mostly for discussion purposes. Some of them are more technical perhaps than others but since it is me, not too technical. I think it is time that I also break some of my own codes and even though I won't give advice, perhaps some recommendations for users will be presented. I will try to justify my positions though and it is always up to the individual to take or leave it.

What I am also going to do is throw in some more photography posts or fun posts that are shorter and faster to do. I like creating content but I find that unless I am willing to really cut down on the words, very few people are going to be able to read them. Don't worry, I am going to keep trying to add something of value in each. What I did learn at SteemFest is that voices are really worth something, it just might not be money.

Voiced ideas have value and I plan on throwing as many into the pool as possible so that people can use them as they see fit. In my opinion, to have a great idea takes many lesser ideas but because we judge people with bad ideas harshly, we ourselves fear putting anything forward unless it is likely to be accepted. That limits our range of ideas to the group averages for acceptance.

So, let's see what comes from it but I think it is time for some more changes in approach and see what feedback arrives. Who knows, perhaps it will stay the same but I hope not, I need the rest. ;)

I'd like to see more of your vision, Taraz, and while I mean that in a figurative sense, I think sharing photography posts and 'fun' content is just what I'm looking for. You'd be surprised how many people might take to it, because like your thorough exploration of topics, I think you shed light on things that may have lesser visibility. Not to mention, you have some skill.

Show us what you got.

Cheers mate. The reason I don't so much is because it is hard to get out with the camera at the moment. I am hoping that I can do it more though soon. I also want to throw some Steem content in to the mix because there is a great deal of opportunity to come for people.

I’m so impressed by your photography skills! The fog is perfect... our plane could actually not take off until the dog cleared, 😂

Ah, and all of that rushing :D
Glad you got home safe and sound and send my best to @el-cr also :*

Exactly lol I could have slept an hour later ! They also almost didn’t let me board because they thought my ID was expired (language barriers!) 😂 but it all ended well . I’m glad to sleep in my bed again but will miss you all

Whoa it's too foggy! Looks scary and beautiful!

That was very accurate!

I hear you regarding the amount of words and the length of posts. I believe short posts is what would attract the vast majority of social media users to this platform, users who don't want to spend more than half a minute on a post.

Nevertheless, I enjoy your long posts as well and quality content is truly significant for the future of Steemit.

See you around.

I will try to mix it up more I think but for those that were at SteemFest might have realised, I am like this in real life too and I am rarely short a word or three.

Nice photos. Fog always adds that little bit of magic to an image, though it's not so common around here.

As for the computer... good luck, there! I bought a gaming laptop, so it would be powerful enough to process photos and frequently end up processing in cofffee shops. Could that be an option for you?

I have thought about it but at this point I can't justify spending the money on it unfortunately. Maybe one day.

It is great you were able to have time for some photography as it seems to be another one of your creative and artistic traits! Look forward to your thought and I am ready to take notes...

I had my camera a lot of the time but it was difficult to get opportunities to actually wander around. Especially at night a lot of time is required to photograph.

Looks like a movie set, great work with the photos this past week.

Again, great to meet the prolific thinker, my mind is still processing everything :)

Cheers mate, I am hoping that we can meet up again soon. Perhaps if things go well, I will bring the family for a visit in the spring :)

Sounds good to me, spring 2020 could be the one, but of course we have SteemFest 4 before then to save up for :)

Sunrise lol. Tell@llfarms she is nuts. That looks awesome but bloody cold at the same time. I didn't see the shorts in any photos yet either.
I am looking forward to what you are thinking about. It is going to take time to work through your thoughts. Write them down and don't forget them.

Lo, I didn't wear shorts but I should have. It was really warm there and I packed for colder. It got into the 20s I think at one point.

Come on, the liquid diet helped and you know it :P
And you lied about not getting good light - these are amazing! You're way too good at this.
I'm glad to hear you'll be relaxing a bit (you deserve it!) and I really look forward to these "new" posts - particularly the photography ones!

Considering I am one of the older of the group and don't drink, I held up pretty well :D

Let's see how it goes. I am hoping that I can write a little less and get out of the house a little more.

Well, I don't think I saw you tipsy, so...I'd say you held up really well :P

I look forward to the discussion.
Family is the only thing more important then health. Take care of yourself
Your computer is in your office. You just have to wait 18 years for her to go to college. LOL

Steemfest was/ is worth going to.

yep, only 16 years left to go :D

Steemfest was/ is worth going to.

It gave me a better view of the ecosystem and of course, the people involved. I would say it was worth it.

As I enjoy these amazing shots... My android states it's 5:12 am and I have to catch an hour of sleep as I have been up since one working on a slow post.

I am looking to be sleeping a bit during the day to be here during the night to enable me engage better as most of this site's population is available when it's night on my end. The trick is, I have to hustle during the day. Sigh.

Bring on the fun posts and the not so Taraz (short)ones too. I enjoy your work and the thought provoking reads.

This is how I destroyed my sleep patterns too. Firstly it was because of my daughter mainly but then I found that it was better to talk at night with people.

Ther will be plenty of long too, especially at the beginning but I will slow down a little :)
