Surf Beaches and Bridal Veil Falls - New Zealand

in #photography4 years ago

Hi everyone and welcome to my hike to Bridal Veil Falls in Raglan, on the North Island of New Zealand. This has to be one of the most amazing waterfalls I have seen so far here. It’s setting is just so attractive. The surrounding scenery is just magical! The Bridal Falls is found along the Pakoka River in the Waikato area.

It was an easy hike through the beautiful native forest to the top of the falls. The water plunged 55 metres to the forest floor below. An extraordinary view of spectacular beauty!
The walk is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs so accessible for everyone to enjoy.

There are endangered plants on the sides of the waterfall so rock climbing is prohibited as is swimming on the grounds that the water quality does not meet health standards for swimming which is unfortunate.

While in the area it is worth visiting close by Raglan which is New Zealands most famous surf spot. The town of Raglan itself is a really cool, bohemian place to visit - I found some great cafes selling really good food and there ya s really nice vibe around the place and the beach at Raglan has a beautiful long left hand wave making it super popular amongst surfers.

Manu Bay’s endless left hand wave featured in the iconic surf movie Endless Summer. There are surf beaches here for every type of surfer and the waves are consistent all year round.

There is so much to explore and enjoy here. I hope you enjoyed exploring a little with me today.
