An Echo Of The Past

in #photography6 years ago

I've watched this house age since I was small child. For more than 25 years I've seen this property start out slowly falling behind on repair as the owners got old and unable to keep up. One day it was clear the house had become empty, then abandoned, and slowly aged into the empty shell you see now.

This house has always been my favorite and is the basis of my obsession with abandoned houses. I drove past it every time we traveled to go see our family. I've seen it so many times, I feel like it is a part of who I am. Slowly, over time, it has faded until barely visible. It is still there, but you wouldn't even notice it, like only the echo is left behind. I've feared for many years that it would just disappear one day, without warning. Would any one remember it when I no longer do?

What type of camera did you use for this?

I used my Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone. The sun was just starting to set for the evening, giving that colorful glow as a backdrop.
