Alberto Manuel Brenes Biological Reserve. This Reserve has a Biological Station, located on the left bank of the San Lorencito River.
Its topography is very irregular with very steep gradients, with rain forests and natural ecosystems of great value. It has a great water wealth, this because of the high rainfall and its relief. Its altitude reaches 1650 meters above sea level, its precipitation from 3500 mm to 5300 mm annually and its average temperature is from 17º to 25º.

Demasiado lindo el lugar, ¿cómo se llega? Me parece que es más cerca desde el lado de Puntarenas pero no estoy seguro.

Para llegar a la reserva lo mejor es ir por San Ramón, carretera a San Carlos, antes de llegar al Bajo de los Rodríguez hay un pueblo llamado los Lagos, allí se toma a mano derecha por un camino de lastre por 7Km hasta el portón de entrada, de ahí son 4km más hasta la Estación, se llega en carro hasta ahí. Del lado de Puntarenas se entra por Miramar, se llega hasta un pueblo llamado el Cedral, la vez que hice esa ruta caminamos durante un día y medio por medio de la montaña hasta llegar a la Estación. Yo he ido siempre como parte de mis labores en biología, pero creo que uno podría coordinar una visita llamando directamente a la Reserva o a la Sede de Occidente de la UCR los cuales administran el lugar.
