Happy UAE Flag Day!
UAE celebrated the flag day on 3rd November in commemoration of that day in 2004 when Sheikh Khalifa became President.
Flags are raised across the whole country - on private houses, business towers, even on the beach like on this photo.
At my previous company, we used to get a massive cake in the colours of the flag and we decorated the whole company with flags and balloon arches of red, green, black and white. The whole company gathered for the cake cutting, including the customers.
It's a very patriotic celebration, quite unusual for me as an expat.
Every country has its ways of celebrating and I think it's nice to show respect by embracing the customs of the country we're in.
