Baltic sea 2019 - Damp and surroundings | Ostsee 2019 - Damp und Umgebung [EN/DE]

As I mentioned before (only few times ;) ) , we spent our summer holiday at the baltic sea this year. Our hotel was located in Damp, which is a tiny village, mainly consisting of holiday appartments, a little harbour, a rehabilitation clinic, beach, fun areas... so our daughter was perfectly entertained, even when the weather was bad.
Wie ich schon erwähnte (nur wenige Male ;)), haben wir dieses Jahr unsere Sommerferien an der Ostsee verbracht. Unser Hotel befand sich in Damp, einem winzigen Dorf, das hauptsächlich aus Ferienwohnungen, einem kleinen Hafen, einer Rehaklinik, einem Strand und diversen Vergnügungsbereichen besteht. Unsere Tochter war also auch bei schlechtem Wetter perfekt unterhalten.

There was even a pony farm nearby where she could experience a 30 minutes ride and she loved it.
Es gab sogar einen Ponyhof in der Nähe, wo sie 30 Minuten reiten durfte und sie fand´s natürlich genial.

In the two weeks we stayed there we also made some day trips. One day our destination was Kappeln, which was a village only twenty minutes away by car - of course located at the water. It wasn´t so exciting, but cute with its narrow streets and its bascule bridge, which is opening one time per hour to let bigger ships pass through.
In diesen zwei Wochen machten wir auch einige Tagesausflüge. An einem Tag war unser Ziel Kappeln, ein nur zwanzig Autominuten entferntes Dorf - natürlich am Wasser gelegen. Es war jetzt nicht unheimlich spannend, aber niedlich mit seinen engen Gassen und der Klappbrücke, die sich einmal pro Stunde öffnet, um größere Schiffe durchzulassen.

Another day we visited Eckernförde, which is still small with about 20,000 people living there, but still a bigger city close to Damp. There is a pedestrian area with all the shops you need, industry, a nice beach and many events like concerts that take place there. For us, the highlight was the Bonbonkocherei, a small shop in which you could observe how sweets were traditionally made by candy cooks using traditional machines (https://www.bonbonkocherei.de/). Unfortunately, I was busy trying them out, so I did not take pictures. Instead, I show you a few maritime pictures of Eckernförde :)
An einem anderen Tag besuchten wir Eckernförde, mit rund 20.000 Einwohnern noch recht klein, aber dennoch eine größere Stadt in der Nähe von Damp. Es gibt eine Fußgängerzone mit all den Geschäften, die man braucht, Industrie, einem schönen Strand und vielen Veranstaltungen wie Konzerten. Für uns war das Highlight die Bonbonkocherei, ein kleiner Laden, in dem man zuschauen kann, wie Bonbons traditionell von Bonbon-Köchen mit traditionellen Maschinen hergestellt werden(https://www.bonbonkocherei.de/). Leider war ich damit beschäftigt, sie zu probieren, so dass ich keine Bilder davon gemacht habe. Stattdessen zeige ich ein paar maritime Bilder von Eckernförde :)

Interesting travelogue. That first image really captures a mood. The shot with the sky full of birds is rather Alfred Hitchcock-esque. But, I especially love the rainbow image.

Traumhaft schöne Bilder! An der Ostsee war ich seit über 30 Jahren nicht, ich glaube, da muss ich auch mal wieder hin . Hab Dank fürs Teilen.
