Butterflies from my region: the not so colourful
Some butterflies look spectacular, some look more modest. I like them all.
The green-veined white:

Another green-veined white:
Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO100, f5.6, 1/160
One of its cousins:
Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO200, f5, 1/500
And another cousin, the cabbage white:
Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO100, f8, 1/160
A ringlet. They don't mind rain much:
Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO400, f5.6, 1/60
The longhorn moth. It actually flies around with these antennae:
Olympus XZ-1, 28mm, ISO200, f6.3, 1/200
The small skipper:
Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO100, f8, 1/320
The ruby tiger, with impressive manes:
Olympus XZ-1, 28mm, ISO100, f5.6, 1/80
The fen wainscot, no colour there, but not less pretty:
Olympus XZ-1, 28mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/160
A touch of orange on the meadow brown:
Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO100, f8, 1/250
The speckled wood, looking down on me:
Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO400, f8, 1/100
A blood-vein, curiously called "lieveling" in Dutch:
Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO100, f8, 1/640
The common heath. The tend to hide in heather, and they hide well, but not well enough:
Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/200
