Tricholoma terreum 🍄

in #photography5 years ago

Common, grew on the ground in large groups, in pine groves and mixed groves, in December-March.

We stumbled upon it several times in different locations all over the Hunting Grounds our last photo-trip.

Tricholoma terreum is the candidate expected to compete with the common famous and tasty Pine Mushroom for the title of "most common mushroom," but it loses the competition for two main reasons:

  1. It begins to appear in quantities only at the end of December / early January, towards the end of the season.
  1. Tricholoma terreum Is a leaf fungus, many collectors prefer to collect only porous mushrooms (like a sponge from below) for fear of poisonous and dangerous page mushrooms.

For Russian-speaking gatherers, the mushroom is called "rat" because it grows under a layer of leaves or needles, and only the edges of the gray velvet hat pop up - like a small mouse Who peeps out of his hidden corner 🐭

In light of the results of studies conducted by Chinese microbiologists in 2014, Tricholoma terreum was passed from good mushroom/fungi to suspicious mushroom/fungi such as toxin aggregation.

As for the Tricholoma terreum, there is still no conclusive evidence that it causes poisoning, but because of the concern that the substances it contains may be harmful to human health in the long term, we recommend that you refrain from consuming it, especially in large amounts.

Enjoy!
