Stereum hirsutum / Thelephora hirsuta 🍄
While we were walking in our usual area in the Menashe Forests, @simba and I encountered this strange mushroom that at first, I thought it to be Gloeophyllum abietinum / Daedalea abietina but on further check on the web I discovered it was Stereum hirsutum / Thelephora hirsuta which is a tree growing mushroom.
This type of mushroom grows on branches and tree cuttings.
In Israel, it was found in the areas of Hadera and Ramot Menashe, on severed and dried branches of oak, carob, eucalyptus, olive, etc.
It is not edible
