By far my favorite plants for the fall and winter are pansies.
Yes, pansies! (Pronounced pan-zees)
It's fall now and my obsession with pansies has officially BEGUN :)
Last week I planted pansies at home in the flower beds, in hanging baskets, big pots, and in cute little pots.
These are some of the pansies I planted in a pot of creeping jenny:
And then I planted these adorable sky blue pansies surrounding yellow mums:
These are my favorite:
Technically, you can call these here a violet. And the magenta is a petunia. Gorgeous!
In the mild climate I live in, I expect the petunia to do well until we have freezing temps. But the pansies, they will add pops of color to even the dreariest winter days. If you haven't done so yet, go and get some pansies. They can handle light frost but they need full sun.
