Still laughing over the butt prints on the bench! This time of year bleak is a word that I am far too familiar with. Gloomy is another one that I use frequently. Wonderful poetry to go with your wonderful photos.

I haven't known the word bleak before I was searching for the english translation of "trostlos" and I liked bleak most.
The bench photo was shot almost 2 months ago and I haven't found a possibility to post it ... until yesterday ;)

It always make me think of Bleak House by Charles Dickens. What is the title in German?

many English titles are not translated or are not fully translated. So, the German title of Bleak House is "Bleakhaus" (haus = house). Maybe the translator didn't know the word bleak neither 😉

Oh, I didn't read the book and have just looked for the German title. So, the houses name is "Bleak House" - that's an unusual name for a house in my opinion.

I think I made an attempt to read the book, but the dated satire didn't keep me interested. I would guess that the title is also saterical.
