SHISHA LOUNGE Experience! Sand desert in the middle of rainy city in UK !
Living in Birmingham had its perks…. There was always somewhere to go at any time you felt like it! It could be crazy in the morning and chances would be something would still be open…. Even if it’s McDonalds at 4am, because you just finished your uni assignment and need to celebrate…… just one of the perks of living in the city!
So, this occasion was actually me moving into my new apartment, and straight after I moved my last box in, I decided to go and celebrate…. I was tired after all day of hard work, but knew I needed to have a drink to this special occasion.
The place I decided to head to was a Shisha Lounge, which was located in Digbeth… the place where all the fun things are. I’ve never been to a shisha lounge before and it was the only one reasonably close to where I lived.
From outside it looked just like a warehouse… I was wondering whether I was in the right place….. But as soon as I stepped inside…. I was stunned! In all honesty, I had no clue where to look… there was just so much.
The place was fairly big and filled to brim with people, I had to wait in a queue for about 20 minutes before I was let in to sit at a table… majority of time the waiting time is much longer I heard.
We were lead to a table and given the menus, the place offers some great food at an affordable price, to enjoy while sitting in a lively atmosphere with loads of people around and some music playing in the background. It’s great for social occasions, such as going with a number of friends.
The food was really tasty (I treated myself to a steak), and milkshake I had was exquisite. But of course, the main dessert and the most popular thing on the menu… was flavoured shishas!
The amount of flavours was overwhelming… I mean you could have anything from fruit flavours to actual dessert flavours! There were also options for special mixed blends…. all of them looked so interesting, it was tough to make a choice- especially since they all come at a reasonably high price (around 15 pounds each).
So, I asked fellow people sitting close by for an advice… and they said anything with mint is worth a try as some single flavours might be overwhelming (great tip for anyone trying it for the first time). And then they kindly offered for me to try some of their flavours… how awesome of them! I tried ‘’Blue Mist’’ which was interesting! Double apple, Bubble-gum and also Bubble-gum and Mint which were also great! My favorite from the selection was bubble-gum and mint! So, I went along with that selection!
I was surprised by how much flavour it had, I’m not a smoker but I know hands down that the shisha flavour and smoke was not as harsh as normal cigarettes, and it was very pleasant with the sweet flavour! It actually felt like a dessert!
After all that, I sat down in the ''sand'' part of the lounge, which was filled with sand and pillows aimed for people who wanted to sit on the ground... which was so comfortable!
It was a very cool experience to say the least, I wish there was a bit less people and the music wasn’t as loud sometimes (I think the lounge is definitely aimed at a younger generation). But apart from that everything was great and I look back on this memory fondly.
I recommend this place and experience for a night out with friends! Everyone is guaranteed to have fun, I would however point out that overly frequent visits would still result in health issues, even if shishas aren’t as damaging as cigarettes, they are actually worse as you end up inhaling a massive amount of smoke at once. But once in a while visit, shouldn’t be a problem!
I had a great time! The general feel to the place seemed like I was in Morocco on a holiday, or somewhere in an arab desert – not in the rainy, cold city in UK! I really enjoyed the atmosphere there!
Fantastic place !!! Thank you!!!
Thanks! :)
