Mushrooms occurring in Europe - Diplomitoporus flavescens

Diplomitoporus flavescens - A one-year mushroom, resupinaty or most often spread, elongated and arranged roof-shaped, with the upper part bent, thickened, in the form of a small hat with dimensions 5-15 x 10-90 x 9-35 mm. Top surface felt-haired, not ball-shaped; whitish, greyish, with age of yellow-brown, cynomonic or greenish from algae; the shore is blunt and rounded. The margin of resupinates is flawless, rounded, sharply pointed, up to 1 mm wide; hymenophore colors. Hymenophore tubular, whitish, grayish, ochraceous.

Monolayer tubes, 3 to 6 mm long, in fruiting bodies growing on vertical substrates up to 20 mm long. The edges are full, blunt, later thin, fringed or serrated.

Pores in diameter of 0.2 to 1 mm, circular or angular, less elongated. 1 to 3 by 1 mm.

Flesh thin, 0.1 to 0.5 mm thick, fibrillar-cork; in the surface layer of the cap quite soft, loose, hardens as you approach the tubes. Pale color or wood color. The smell is pleasant.

Occurrence: On dry trunks and stumps of conifers, especially pine. It grows singly or in groups, from August to November, but is met throughout the year. Rare.

Value: Unaffected fungus.
