This is a view of the Mausoleum of Hadrian, also known as Castel St. Angelo, in Rome, Italy. It was built between 134 and 139 CE. Built as a place to hold the remains of emperors, it is knoen as Castel St. Angelo because of the legend that that archangel Michael appeared on top of it at the end of a plague of 590 CE.
