I have always really loved the look of black and white photography.. there is an artistic nature to them that I find really inspiring. What I have come to realize though is that they are not as easy as they look! Many times a photo is just taken then changed to black and white in post processing as an after thought, which results in the the image feeling flat, monotone, and with no real depth. After some much needed advice, I realized that the art of taking black and white photos has to begin before taking the photo itself.
Over the last few months I have been trying to pay attention to shadows, highlights and all those others things that are important for a proper black and white photo (or so I am told)... I am still learning, but I finally got a few that I liked...here are some of my favorites...
So, what do you think? I know I have a long way to go and am always open to advice!

I have gotten really interested in photography since my visit with @derangedvisions. I really think pictures show us a different point of view in life, past, present, and future. They show us how it was, how it is and pictures taken now show what it is like and how our lives have changed from this point later. Many times I wish I would have started this journey earlier in life. Nice Pictures!
Well he is an amazing photographer, I could totally see how he could inspire you. He has this ability to capture emotion in his photos that I find just stunning.
I couldn’t agree more, photography is a look into our past, present and future and have the ability to tell stories that words alone cannot. I seem to gravitate to things from the past... and I find my photos reflect that a lot. Black and white photography always seems to add that depth the photos of the past and maybe that is where my love for it comes from.

You are right, there is a beaty of really good B&W pictures sometimes they can be more attractive then colour-ed ones. It does not distract your attention by colors and you really concentrated on what is on picture. I love hte wood pattern, you caught it so good.
Yes I agree! Sometimes it really does add to the heart of the moment, without distractions. Thank you 😊... the wood one is a favorite of mine.

B&W photos are a good change from the regular, colored photos. But not gonna lie, these photos made me feel sad and pessimistic. 🙄
Black and white always make everything more intense, even our feelings,more contrastes, shadows and highlights. Like a dream.
