Is there still magic healing energy at the Sedona Energy Vortexes?

in #photography7 years ago

Hello all, we recently made a trip to Sedona, AZ and visited two of the Seven energy vortexes that the area is famous for. (Along with the obligatory tourist shopping street, of course). We really enjoyed the trip to a major Energy Vortex called Rachel's Knoll (see below).
Here are pics of the shopping area. There is a nice selection of rocks of course, along with native made jewelry, psychic readings, a couple good eating spots, etc. with gorgeous background.

Then we took one of the jeep tours out to the Vortex. These range in price and length from about $79-$290 depending on the length of your tour and the vendor you choose. Shop around for a deal. Most of the hotels have brochures with price comparisons, and some will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel, or you can go directly to one of their booths on the strip.

This is the views and video pan from Rachel's Knoll. Rachel was kind enough to donate this upon her death with the stipulation that it must ALWAYS remain open to the public. Unfortunately developers have bought the area below it and put in a golf course that detracts a little from the pristine views.

These last two are from a different area, we only had a few minutes there before a huge monsoon storm rolled in.

And finally, here is a couple video pans from Rachel's Knoll.

Gorgeous Geology. Nice pictures too! Seems like the kind of place i would leave with a backpack full of rocks!

Thanks, I think you would really enjoy a trip there. Didn't get to explore the less trafficked areas, but the guide told us there were some pretty awesome places still with petroglyphs and such not far of the side roads. Definitely a place worth several trips, (but maybe in winter, not 102 summer weather!)

Wow. These are amazing shots! We're always looking for new places to camp - we should keep this one in mind.

Thanks! Yes, the second site shown near the bottom was an awesome camp site. We didn't camp, but could see where others had. Lots of great hiking nearby as well. Could easily make numerous trips there and not see all the cool places, especially the ones off the normal tourist tracks.

Yes, thanks NC, I love your monastery pics. The detail in the building stonework is amazing.
