Richfield Gas Station: Where "Easy Rider" is alive

in #photography2 years ago

In 1969, 50 years ago today, Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper are smuggling as two freewheeling motorcyclists cocaine from Mexico to Los Angeles and they are the true "Easy Riders" - the name of the movie too, that, produced by Fonda and directed by Hopper, writes Hollywood history.

Fonda and Hopper are rinding the legendary Route 66, a highway, where nobody find any kind a of trace of this time today. But a few miles further, on the old highway 66, where no tourists are seen, it has "Richfield", a tiny ghost town with an abandoned gas station where "Easy Rider" was filmed. You must take the exit 285 (Bellemont) of I-40, turn around and ride a lonely road into nothing - at the end, left side, you´ll find a few woodencabins, a rusty car and some posters here, where "Easy Rider" is still alive.
