Lake Garda

 One of the days during last year's trip to Northern Italy we decided to allocate a stroll along the lake Garda. This is the closest to Verona, where we stayed in a lake in Northern Italy. During the preparation for the trip ( and we had plenty) I even saw the film. It captured the whole road around the lake. "Swept with the wind"! Such a beautiful panorama of the lake and mountains absolutely everywhere! How to choose? We are not by car and by public transport was going to get anywhere. But the film helped to form a clear view of where you would like to be, and which you can skip. 

 The choice fell on the East coast of the lake, near to Verona and North as Riva del Garda. The length of the guard in a length of about 60 km. And the road still winds. It was necessary to plan a route. I did print out the bus schedules of the region of Veneto from the website ATV.

 And that's where to start your journey? Then we made a "feint ears"! From Verona decided to make a forced March right up to the Northern tip of the lake. And from down to the South towards Verona, stopping in small towns. In two or three. There we decided. 

 The courage we have given that commuter train Italy by the time we are already well accustomed. Of course, you can buy tickets for high-speed trains for two months before you travel. Then they will be much cheaper. But we have never done so for one reason - a change of circumstances. Often have to rearrange the days and to change plans on the trip. Due to the weather, mostly. Sometimes for health reasons or changing the operating time of the interesting events. But in Italy, the solution is found wonderful!

 I noticed on the train Regionale Veloce. It is a regional train Express. A ticket is not necessary to buy in advance. Are they as easy to train. And in the way time you'll spend less, because they stop everywhere. So we drove from Verona to Venice.

 Here we bought tickets to the town of Rovereto, located in the foothills of the Alps in the neighbouring region of Trento. 

 Forty minutes on the road and we are in Rovereto. We had a little time before the bus to Riva and we took a short walk through the town.

 From the station is the main street of Kors Rosmini. Antonio Rosmini-Serbati philosopher, the most distinguished native of Rovereto. 

 The town is cute. Especially attracted by the fact that look along any street, and in the distance are snow-capped mountain peaks. 

 By itself, the region of Trento, historically very interesting.It is the southern part of Trentino-Alto Adige, which , in turn, was owned by Italy only in the early 20th century. Also for years, the residents have been fighting for autonomy within Italy. And achieved it. Here's a little Mozart gave his first concert in present-day Italy. And there's still the citadel, which we got.

 The objectives of such at us was not. In General, the town is good, but we need to move in the direction of Garda. So a little knock at the weekly fair, we went back to the railway station, right from which depart the buses in the direction of Torbole and Riva. 

The road to Torbole ( namely in this place the trail goes directly to lake Garda), is very picturesque. 

 From Torbole, the road goes to the right and almost immediately enter in Riva del Garda. Since we were primarily interested in the lake, we didn't go very far in town to the mountain, and after leaving the bus at the next stop, went to the water, which was visible through the trees. 

 Then you can not to say anything. Worrying about transport left immediately at the sight of this beauty. We just enjoyed the views of the Garda, the February, so the warm sun, Yes, ducks swans. 

 It is in Riva favorable conditions for Windsurfing and sailing. Every summer competitions "King of the Lake" (King lake), which involved professional athletes - windsurfers. As written in one post about Riva-del-Garda, "if you are a windsurfer and you do not seventy years, that is nothing to do here".

 Actually, everything here is conducive to full relaxation, leisurely walks, enjoying views of the lake and mountains. About our bus schedule, we have forgotten to leave does not want.

 But the time has passed for noon and we waited for the other beauty of Garda. On the bus we were on our way to Malcesine. 

 The town of Malcesine was also in sleepy winter state. The streets are deserted. Cafes and restaurants are closed until summer of recovery. In the same way as the entrance to the fortress. And again we just walked around. 

 In Malcesine there are several entertainment. First, take the cable car to Monte Baldo. From there great views of the lake framed by the mountains. On the meadow walk the llama ( in winter snow). You can rent a Bicycle and thrills, riding along the mountain paths. Secondly, to visit the Scaligero Castle. Nothing special, but again the types! In the third, to ride on a boat to Limone Sul Garda. Walk there through the town, drinking Limoncello. Malcesine is so attractive!

 Cozy streets, as streams are flocking to the surface of the guard. Tangerines on the trees and the winter stillness of this place we have conquered. 

February day we found an outdoor restaurant. Had lunch and went on. Let me remind you that we were moving in the direction of Verona. Then we waited for the Garda. Just Garda.

 The water in the lake near the town of Garda seemed to us much less clean. She bubbled. But we went to the boardwalk and sat on a bench and made sure that the pace of life here is exactly the same as in the other towns on the coast: a complete relaxation, the desire for contemplation and admiration of the beauty of the lake.

  What can I say? Now I know what a vacation at the lakes in Italy." There is still Como, Maggiore. I think their beauty is no less Garda. I'd definitely want to rest here. Because we visited these Paradise beautiful places in February. In the summer more people, but also entertainment more. You can choose from!
