Recipe: Sweet Figs

Hello friends. As I promised in my previous post, today I bring you a recipe for how to prepare a sweet figs, it is very simple and delicious. This is a traditional sweet in the region of the Andes of our beloved Venezuela

Ingredients

  • Figs (can be green and ripe)
  • Paper or Sugar Pane
  • Water
  • abundant sweet species (cinnamon and cloves)

Preparation

1.-It starts by cutting the fig from the figs and split them crosswise superficially, as you can see in the following images.


2.- They are all placed in a large pot and washed thoroughly, adding a teaspoon of baking soda and soaking for a couple of hours.


3.- Then it goes through a colander and let it drain for a while.

4.- We put them back in the pot, adding water until we just cover it, add the previously melted paper (or add sugar to it, for each kilo of fig, 1.7 kg of sugar is added) and the sweet species are left to cook for 4 hours. approximately hour, letting rest and cool


5.- We serve and we taste.
