Wildlife Photography: Roebuck / Rehbock

in #photography5 years ago (edited)

Does this lens make me a wildlife photographer? I do not think so because I just do not have the patience.

Roebuck / Rehbock
Wildlife Photography

Sitting for hours and waiting for an animal, or perhaps a particular animal, such as a roebuck, to come by, that's not my cup of tea.

But what I did last weekend, that was nice: I climbed a high seat near a forest and waited a while to see if a deer would come to the clearing.
For a long time I could not stand the wait, but luckily this roebuck jumped out of the forest, just before I wanted to pack up and go on.

Do I watch him, or is he watching me?

Beobachte ich ihn, oder beobachtet er mich?

Apparently, he realized that I was not dangerous for him and then spent a while on the open grass and ate grass - what do the English hunters say, when a deer eats? I have found the word graze.

The photos do not really appeal to me, because I simply do not like the view "from above" of this beautiful animal.
The next time I go "hunting", I'll probably be more "under" the high seat ;)

Howdy sir johannpiber! I think those were good shots, even though you got them from no skill of your own, you just lucked out! lol..no, once he showed up you still have to take good pictures. Maybe you could set up a camera in the wilderness to take photos when activated by motion, maybe you could also get lucky that way.

... or I could just set up my camera on the tripod, focus to a spot, where the deer might jump out of the woods. Then I would lean back and watch Youtube videos. When the deer arrives, I would just press the button on my remote control.

This way sounds better to me than the automatic camera, because then I can say, that I was there, photographing wildlife ;) lol

Although I know, whereabout the deer are or must be, it is always luck when I get such photos, because I am no hunter, who can sit and wait patiently ;)

That DOES sound like a good plan sir johannpiber. What if things in society really get back? and it's like in a movie, like end of the world type of movie, you would know where to hunt deer to get meat.

I don't know if I could live in such a world, because I don't think, I could shoot such a beautiful deer. Look at his eyes - could you kill such eyes?
I even could not kill a snake - have you ever looked into the eyes of a snake, before you shot it to death?
I think, I would become a vegetarian, but these are even worse people, because they eat the all food of the animals.
LOL

Oh man, you got problems! You can't even be a vegetarian! lol. Oh yes, I check the eyes of the snakes if I can see them, the ones with round pupils are not venomous. The dangerous ones have to die because I have to protect Mrs. J. and Jack, plus myself.

The deer would be sad to have to kill but if the choice was between killing a deer and your family starving to death I think the deer would have to be an important sacrifice. The Bible speaks of such times in the end but I don't think we'll see it in our lifetimes.

You really check the eyes, or are you joking? I have just googled it, and you are not joking :) But I have read, that that's not the case for all snakes - some venomous snakes have also round pupils, but I have searched for a few minutes only, and I think you know the snakes which are around where you live ;)

Of course you are right, if it was really necessary I would be able to kill the deer, but I would be sad.

I would be sad too sir johannpiber! Yes the thing about the eyes is one indicator but very seldom would we NOT know what a venomous snake looks like around here. We basicall just have three in this area...rattlesnake, water moccosin, and copperhead. I simplify things by just killing them all. Because they are territorial and you can't just tell them to leave. They'll stay in the area.

I know, that you know what you are doing, you know?
All three snake names sound very dangerous to me. These snakes are in the reptile zoos behind thick glass.

Very cute deer among gorgeous wild flowers! I especially like the second photo! Great capture!

You were very lucky that he jumped out of the forest just before you left the place.

Thanks so much for sharing. ;)

Yeah, I was lucky that day, to still be there, when this roebuck came out of the forest, and that he was not afraid of me - he ignored me ;)
Thank you so much for your kind comment, @tangmo 😊

You're welcome! ;)

Ah! Perhaps, he may fond of you or he may know that you were very kind to him.... ;))

You might be right, @tangmo, it is a small village, where I have grown up, and the deer might know my family and maybe also me 😉

Um! Good reason! That would probably be possible.... ;D

😉
It's a small forest surrounded by farmfields, where this deer lives. It is certainly used of people.

Oh! That's very nice place and friendly environment for the deer! ;)

Yes, I think it is - until the farmer comes working on the field with his loud tractor ;)

Nice roebuck wildlife Photography.

Yes, I'm becoming a wildlife photogapher :)
Thank you very much for your nice comment @kamrunnahar :)

Great wildlife photo! The deer is lovely)

Yes, this deer was really a beautiful little guy, and although it has seen me, it was not scared :)
Thank you so much and have a nice day @gritata :)

Some times patience is rewarded with breathtaking shots, but I think that I also won't be able to stand sitting idle for several hours, unable to move, and basically doing nothing 😅

In th ehalf hour I was there I have been looking through the images I have taken before, and could delete the very bad ones. If I had nothing to do,I would have gone earlier ;)
Thank you very much that you like my photos, Joel / @joelsegovia 😊
