Last winter impressions? / Letzte Winter Impressionen?

in #photography5 years ago

10 days ago I was on the Dobratsch, the local mountain of Villach (links below the photos). A few sunset photos of this day I already showed a few days ago.

Because the snow already melts slowly and gives way to spring, I would like to show you some impressions in black and white and in color of the winter that was still prevailing on this day in the most beautiful alpine weather.

Maybe the next time I go to this mountain, everything is already lush green and the mountain flowers are blooming.

Möglicherweise ist beim nächsten Mal, wenn ich auf diesen Berg gehe, bereits alles saftig grün und die Bergblumen blühen.

Howdy sir johannpiber! Good morning sir, it is still night here but I know you'll see this soon and it will be morning there. Those areas look like they might be good for skiing? I have no idea, I'm not a skier and don't know how. Very interesting look in black and white though, well done sir!

Hello @janton,
I was on the way to take pictures and came back earlier :)

There was once a ski resort on the mountain, but this was closed a years ago and the mountain is now a nature reserve. You can hike and go to the summit with snowshoes or skis. Ski tourers may then ski down the mountain in certain areas.

howdy again sir johamnnpiber..and you have gone to the top of this mountain and took the skis down? That would be a fun trip down if you know how to ski!

I know how to ski, @janton, but I went by foot up and down. My ski are in the cellar, because for such a tour you need special ski with which you can walk upwards and because I do not ski anymore, since my kids don't like it and I don't want to go alone and it is very, very expensive, especially when you go with your family.

howdy again sir johann! I had to go through a 2bit post together which people are not going to like but anyway that took my away for awhile. So it is very expensive just to ski down a mountain? Even if you have your own skis? How much is very expensive?

Skiing down is free, but you have to get up with a lift or a gondola and to might have to go for a lunch and you have to get to the ski ressort somehow. A family with 4 children would need about 200 Euros for 1 day skiing (tickets and simple lunch).

Oh wow. Ok sir johann then it's a good thing that the kids don't like to ski! lol.
You can use that money for something else.

When the kids were younger, skiing was fun. Every year we went skiing for a week. But in recent years, they did not want to ski anymore. So we save the money for the summer holidays or something else :)

The snow scenes look good in black and white!

Thank you, @rossfletcher, I thought the same when I converted them to black and white :)

Amazing mountains in the distance! You could walk from peak to peak!!

These mountains are the Karawanks and the Julian Alps in the south, @kaminchan, and if you have enough time and power you can really walk from peak to peak 😉

Hahaha! I will have to get a pair of magical walking boots which will make feel like walking on air. So I could just float up to those peaks to my my snack lunch and hot tea, taking all the photos I want then I would float lightly along the ledge to the next peak!!
This would be so wonderful to be in communion with powerful mountains!! Such energy and grandeur. I do respect these ancient mountains!

Yes, @kaminchan, phantasy is all you need - close your eyes and walk easily from peak to peak :)
