Sometimes a path goes straight, sometimes it makes serpentine lines, but most of the time you only go in one direction, and at least in your life you do not go back because unfortunately you can't.

Manchmal geht ein Weg geradeaus, manchmal macht er Schlangenlinien, aber meistens geht man nur in eine Richtung, und zumindest im Leben geht man nicht zurück, weil das leider nicht geht.

Often you come to an intersection or fork in the road, where you can not tell which of the two ways would be the better way.

Oft kommt man an eine Kreuzung oder Weggabelung, an welcher man nicht erkennen kann, welcher der beiden Wege der bessere Weg wäre.

Is the path more beautiful that leads upwards? And does it lead to a better future, or leads the way upwards to a dark unknown part of the forest?

Ist der Weg nach oben schöner und führt er in eine bessere Zukunft, oder geht der Weg nach oben in einen dunklen unbekannten Teil des Waldes?

Or is the path leading downwards the right choice because it's easier to walk and looks like a lot more people are walking or driving on it, or is it just taking you into deep water where you might drown?

Oder ist der Weg nach unten die richtige Wahl, weil er leichter zu gehen ist und so ausschaut, als ob viel mehr Leute darauf gehen oder fahren würden, oder führt er dich nur in tiefes Wasser in welchem du vielleicht untergehst?

Sometimes, however, there is also help along the way, that should be accepted, if, for example, there is a boat next to the path into the deep water, which could safely carry you to the other shore.

Manchmal gibt es aber auch Hilfe am Weg, die man annehmen sollte, wenn zum Beispiel neben dem Weg ins tiefe Wasser ein Boot liegt, welches einen sicher an das andere Ufer tragen könnte.
