The castle is about 150 meters (492 feet) long and was built in the 12th century on a rock spur about 300 meters (984 feet) above the right bank of the Danube River in today's municipality of Schönbühel-Aggsbach (Wachau, district Melk, Lower Austria). | Die Burg ist etwa 150 Meter (492 feet) lang und wurde im 12. Jahrhundert auf einem Felssporn ca 300 Meter (984 feet) über dem rechten Ufer der Donau im heutigen Gemeindegebiet von Schönbühel-Aggsbach (Wachau, Bezirk Melk, Niederösterreich) errichtet. |
