Garfield monument

Here's a shot I took of the Garfield Monument, located in Garfield Circle. It is a traffic circle at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and First Street in Southwest Washington, D.C. Crystal clear sky made the shot pop even more and added depth.

I was reminded of the story of the death of President James Graffield .... Carles Ghetto, one of the supporters of angry Republicans, shot at the US President XX James A. Garfield on July 2, 1881 at the railway station in Washington. The first bullet caused a superficial wound in the arm, while the second bullet penetrated the right rear side of the rib cage, and the left of the spine completely stabilized. After several weeks of medical treatment, President Garfield died of infection and internal bleeding. It is clear that the lawyer Carles Ghetto was angry after he refused to be appointed US ambassador to France. Immediately after the shooting, police arrested and escorted a ghetto and was sentenced to death and hanged on June 30, 1882. But everyone believes that Garfield's death is due to the negligence of his team of doctors
A wonderful picture in a neighborhood. But of course the pictures bring us ideas. Thank you
