Honolulu from Above - Puu Ualakaa State Park - Drone Video

We took out DJI Spark Drone to the Puu Ualakaa State Park in Honolulu Hawaii. This park is located at the top of Round Top Drive.

If you are visiting Hawaii we recommend that you take a drive up to the park (if it is not raining). The views are breath taking. You can see all the way from Diamond Head to the Airport.

The park is in a lush rain forest and you will be able to see many of the native species.

When we were flying the drone the high wind warning came up immediately. These were the most gusty conditions we have ever flown in. Some wind gusts were so strong it made us step to the side. We watched the drone be blown around during those same big gusts. We also tried to fly it in the rain forest and that was scary. We didn't think about all of the vines, and the proximity warnings same up often freezing the drone in its tracks. We were worried we might not get the drone back out of the forest.

So if you come to the island of Oahu in Hawaii we highly recommend you take a drive up to Puu Ualakaa State Park. Pack a lunch and a blanket and camp out on the grass and eat your lunch while you look out on Honolulu.
