Maison du pêcheur (Fisherman's house)
This is the first of a serie of 3 pieces I made for an exhibition in my hometown this summer.
I wanted to integrate a bit of where I come from to where I now live.
This is the Maison du Pêcheur, shelter of the FLQ in the early 70s where the youth took stand for the independance of the province of Quebec.
It is a mix of #photography and #3d. Multiple pictures of the hallway where took then stich together to get that long format. The house is a 3d reconstruction of a real house in Percé, Québec. That process is called photogrammetry. A serie of images from all angles of the house are feed to a software that creates a cloud of dots that you can use to model the final mesh.
The textures were done using photographs and were cleaned up with Substance painter. I used Blender, a free 3d software for all the other things.
I rendered a few passes that I painted over the final picture. Here's a breakdown of some that I used.
