Cooper's Hawk -- 13 November 2018 (Original Photos/Videos)
Shortly after sunrise I noticed that my feeder area was being stalked by a raptor. As the morning sun shined brightly the raptor, a Cooper's Hawk, perched itself on top of my feeders.

Perched Above the Bird Feeders
This Cooper's Hawk was perched above my bird feeders for over 10 minutes. I was able to take a few pictures and a movie. However, I was photographing toward the sun. These photos and the movie have been edited to correct for the bright background and enhance the features of the hawk.

The hawk kept looking all around.

There was frost overnight. As the sunlight melted the frost off the black bird feeder hanger, the hawk lost its footing on the slick surface.
