The sun is shining, and I am pleasantly surprised that we dodged all of the rain; the wind is blowing in from somewhere, but, not even having the nerve to be brisk. I have to push it all together to acknowledge that today is, indeed, a beautiful day. I am editing pictures, so I will share a few flowers and maybe some prose. Maybe some words. Not my typical day, but, today I am feeling anything but classical Denise.
Fading shadows fall to the night, blush of passion
Lay untouched, awakened
I lay
Hair tangled in the memory
Of unkissed lips
Tonight
I gently wake you
From your sweet, sweet dreams
With words, you cannot hear

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.
they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"

I heard that you got quite the bit of rain! Even the Shore House missed out! It was more out to sea when it made that turn northward than first thought. So I was lucky.
I hope the damage was little with the trees, but thankful as it could have been so much worse. The weekend is upon us! Go forth and have fun!

We got a bit but no to bad especially when compared tot he Bahamas and what the Carolinas got so we were lucky ;)
We, well most of NJ NY and CT lost internet Tv and phone if using optimum last night, but it was back up this morning and not sure if it was related to the weather or not, but today the weather is nice and I am enjoying it :)
Oh, I just went to the Bahamas in June for two days. It is so devastating to have these small islands to be hit.
It makes me so sad.
But, I am glad that you didn't experience what they thought was coming your way. North Carolina is flooded but the rest of the coast fared well. Thank God for small favors.

I do feel so for those who got hit, but I do count our blessings whenever one misses us :)
Any day above ground is a good one, one of my uncles used to say and I do think it is so true we have to make the most of each day :)
but not to much walking I went for a walk earlier this morning and my calves didn't like it so will probably take it easy for the rest of the day

Ohhh...you were so lucky to have dogged all that wind and rain and are able to sprinkle all them lovey flowers many people were not that Hurricane going through their has certainly devastated many lives so sad for them ☹️
The damage was unbelievable with winds over 180 MPH sustained over that period of time. My house in Florida only had the mailbox pole snap in half, but, I have already had that repaired and that was it, so very fortunate as it is only minutes from the coast.
My heart goes out to the Bahamas as so many of those houses are simply built structures that had no chance of surviving. The loss was great and it has devastated the country.
It definitely was a beautiful little haven of pretty. I loved it there. Have a wonderful day, Angelo!

I cannot believe that the only damage to the house in Florida was a snapped pole on the Mailbox and the Shore House here was untouched (the one in Virginia)The Washington, DC area was too far in to even get RAIN! so we were plenty blessed.
My family in Connecticut got rain, lost power and will be doing a mild cleanup this weekend. The United States is so very fortunate. If it hadn't stalled, we would be singing a different song. My heart goes out to those in the Bahamas. They were totally devastated.
