Running into the Wind

in #photography5 years ago

Newness was arising up, in between night and the light of my day. Vision. My vision, which is throwing a lifeline to me, taking me to the very edge of what I know and then going a little bit further, just a little further. If all that you can imagine is what you see, then your vision becomes too blurry to enter the contemplation.

Oh yes, it's the fresh start of a new day- at waves of color in my dreams

Ever run through a field full of wild daisies? With the sun in your face? With the wind on your cheeks?

Whose heart of stone was left down in the riverbed today? I confess to you, it had me wanting to fling it far and away; for who would want to carry that around all day? I ask you sincerely; are you missing something?

It is so hard to pass up unusual beauty when I see it. "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" Always. There are times, when, it is not so obvious. There have been moments when I meet a person and over time, they become more and more beautiful, so much that it radiates outward, spilling into my life. If you should be so lucky to find people like that, hold them tight, never let them go.

Flowers. There must always be flowers. This flower is dedicated to #ThursdayGreen #ColorChallenge with @Kalemandra. Always and forever, she colors my day.

Soft and gentle
Appearances can be so misleading
The beauty in your eyes
Watching me
Embrace the passion
Of petals blooming
Sighing, far into the light

¸.♥´¸.•♥¨) Let the sun shine in on your life
So the joy may touch your soul

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Because of you, I come back to post again and again, I am encouraged by you, for the time you take to visit, comment or even upvote. For all of these reasons, I am eternally grateful. Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Let's hold hands around the globe and make this earth really spin. Some days, it is not as easy to see, how wonderful it really is. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"

Once again Denise, this is a beautiful post of words and flowers. :) I'm just wondering if the Steemit world will make it - it's such a shame steem isn't valued more. I probably shouldn't check the price of steem daily!! I've had a lot on my mind lately and some days I'm only inspired to check out my Steemit friends posts and upvote them and/or comment.

I actually never check the price of steem. People will tell me. LOL If you are not doing it to supplement your income, it is less of a worry. Now, don't get me wrong, I won't let it go down so far I lose it all, but, I want to be able to get on here and enjoy the people and places I see without worrying how many pennies I will make.

I finally decided that a greeter at WalMart makes more, so enjoy it or get a part-time greeter job.

I have to believe that there are people like myself who believe in steem and that even if Voice opens, there will be room for several platforms to coexist. Now, that aside, I am going to check out the price of steem. LOL

Have a most wonderful weekend! You are such a kind and thoughtful person who I am happy to have crossed paths with here!

All these shots are so beautiful and how cool to find a heart rock

As for

Ever run through a field full of wild daisies? With the sun in your face? With the wind on your cheeks?

you mean there are people who have not done that?

Thanks for being an active member and greatest host of SteemUSA !tip

Seriously!! Can you believe that? Anyone who hasn't surely are missing out on one of life's finest pleasures. I can feel the sun caressing my face with her gentle morning light as I write this.

Oh, the rocks in nature are always so cool, especially when they first catch your eye. I even caught a heart in this patch of clover once. I'm all about the hearts. ;) !tip

Thanks @dswigle I appreciate the tip and support ;)

Your musing posts are always my favorites. Wow you were always really good at finding hearts in nature. That is a neat one. Must be because you have a heart of gold! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I can walk down any road and find mundane things I think are beautiful. I just love to snap and see if I can capture the shape or the texture. It drives others crazy lol. You are blooming and just so full of happiness it is infectious. Thanks for sharing it with us :)

Oh, you! You know that was my heart of stone, right? :) It dropped right in front of me and I almost didn't see it!

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, for sure. You truly are a master at textures. There is something cool about textures, but, you have to be able to make that come across in photos. That is not so easy, but, you seem to manage it anyway.

I like simple beauty also and I love to see the beauty in the demise of things. It's an oxymoron, I know, but, true. Thank you for your support always!

Thanks for being an awesome member of #SteemUSA!

Oh get out with your heart of stone bull! You have the kindest, most generous and loving hearts of anyone I know of. So shssss.

You can't see inside me. :P

Ever run through a field full of wild daisies

I have not done that since I was a kid! Along with getting all muddy by walking in a stream.

Thanks for sharing these splashes of color that flowers bring into our lives. Have an amazing weekend.

Seriously?!! I demand you get out there and run through a field! And tell me you didn't enjoy it.

Then, of course, you will need to do a tick check

I don't remember that part of life growing up. You only picked them off if you could feel them crawling on you. Now, there is Lyme. Hmmm. I wonder if there always was?

I still like walking in the rain, and so do my kids. Refreshing and if it is humid enough, I have to take a shower when I come in. You know, all of this was so much more fun when I was a kid. LOL'

Thanks for stopping by! Have a most wonderful weekend!

I remember having to do the "tick check" hehe. We always have to check while at the grandparents cabin. It was really a “not a big deal at that point in time.”

Then I joined the cub scouts on up and they made a bigger deal about it. After they educated parents on why It was important to know about them a couple of them removed their kids and didn’t want them to go near any woods.

There was this amazing wooded area at the end of our block I use to live on growing up. All the kids played in those woods. We even had some forts and other areas built up in them as well. There was even a “somewhat” cleared area with a giant hill if you went deep enough in. It broke a lot of sleds and bones as there where a couple of trees you had to void while going down “faceplant hill” as we called it among some other words when a sled got damaged!

A kid on that same block ended up getting Lyme disease in those woods from a deer tick I think It was. This was at the time your classic small middle income and up town so the news spread like wild fire. They put up giant fences, signs at end of the block but its's not like that did a lot of good with people having backyards into those woods. That is however exactly the moment when kids stop playing outside as adults did not want it to happen to their own.

so much more fun when I was a kid

That it was kids don't worry about the kinds of dangers that a wooded area could have! So much better just knowing to do a tick check and not put any more thought into it or what else could be in the woods!

Have a great weekend!

True! We had a summer home on the Canadian border with 80 acres and I do a tick check every time. My cousin, Edward got Lyme disease when we were kids, after years of not being able to diagnose what the heck was wrong with him. That certainly changed the way my parents looked at the woods for sure.

No bid fences, but, the tick check definitely went into effect. As it should have. It was scary letting my son go to Boy Scouts, but, I found that educating the kids worked a whole lot better than the scare tactics that some people still use.

I don't like ticks, but, I won't be giving up hiking anytime soon. Just a little (read a lot) more careful in what I wear and how I check myself.

I wonder what else is in the woods? I shudder to think!

Hehe.. Thanks and have a great weekend!

I really like the super close up one! : )

Terrific poems and brilliant photos. The flowers are gorgeous, but I think my favorite from this collection is the stones in water.

You're very welcome. I see hearts in nature often too, especially in leaf and flower petal formations. Thanks for the tipu.
