Yellowed film; A B&W image set of yellow tinted 35mm film Photography, developed and printed in the darkroom by me

in #photography8 years ago

A 35mm B&W film photography selection, based on my recent fascination with yellowed film and the simple moody beauty of this style, developed and printed by me in the dark room.

Like most of my 35mm camera work these are not bombastic, instead they are subtle and dynamic in the small details and the highlighted yellow contrasts.

I find that these 35mm shots speak with a very different voice than do my digital shots, especially with the uncommon yellow tint they have been given.

These are scans of the negatives. In scanning some richness and detail was lost (I have only any entry level scanner and will eventually pay to get them wet scan with a multi thousand dollar scanner)) I am still grateful for the scanner and being able to share them this way.

All of these images were shot in Minneapolis, MN. The camera I used on all of these is an old Canon EOS 35mm with a Sigma walk around zoom. They have been primarily shot on very old, intentionally low quality, Czech film that I bought from Freestyle Photographic Supply for $1 a roll(check them out).

At first glance I thought #9 was cigarette ash. It was a fun perspective shift when I realized it was concrete. :P

Yah, I love that as well. I can show you the original print as it is much higher in resolution than the scan since you are in my town now.

very nice examples of composition, shape, texture and form.

Thank you very much!

Love 1 and 11, very eerie and looking at them makes me feel I like something is about to happen. 1 especially is like being in a Hitchcock film.

Hey, thanks. Love Hitchcock!

I might be weird, but the effect you applied to these photos invokes death from the viewer's perspective .. like being passed away and looking upon what you photographed.

interesting take, I always enjoy hearing what comes to different people. I can see what you mean. It isn't what I intended but that is okay.
