Mismatched Travel Diaries #3 - SCOTLAND - Part 2 - The End Of The Road.
Loch Torridon is a wild place. It isn't hard to imagine vikings weathering the harsh winds and swift weather changes that come with living in such a remote place.
The landscape at first sight is grim and boggy. The Loch itself seems the same too, but both are rich with life. The hills are littered in almost invisible stags, and the Loch is home to some of the finest (and most delicious) langoustines in the world.
The textures of the small, lee side beach are alluring even in the evening light. Seaweed and driftwood wash up and rest, waiting to be washed away at next high-tide.
Living in the region is the same as the ebb and flow of the tides which control it. The winds blow, the waves wash, and the water cleanses. Everything is a reflection of something else in this seemingly untameable loch. Though, as always, peace always has its moments.
