Hiking on snowshoes in the woods

I had the pleasure of renting an awesomely rustic shack in Shawinigan two weeks ago, and went hiking on snowshoes while practicing photography on a cold day.

This tree caught our eyes, as it was almost the only non-coniferous tree with leaves still attached to it. The orange of its leaves made a nice contrast with the environnement which was almost only white, green and dark brown.

This was the shack we started from, with a little sauna beside it (I assume an unbreakable-charm was put in place by powerful wizards on the roof, or else it would have collapsed with the weight of the icy snow).

Photos were shot with a Sony a77 camera and a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens.
