Burning Man Retrospective – Thursday
In Full Swing
By Thursday, most citizens of Black Rock City have arrived – the 'weekend warriors' have yet to descend - everyone's well-playafied (covered in dust) – vibes are high.
Turns out that I have more photos from Thursdays than most of the days preceding it. We'll see what I discover as we move towards the weekend, but I've had to break today's set into parts. I just have too many photos that feel significant to this ongoing story.

Definitely. Can't wait to visit the American segment of the tribe, it's been calling me for a while and the European festival circuit will be different for me anyhow next year so it would be a great opportunity. New experiences on my favorite playground just across the pond with huge potential. I'm ready <3

your book looks amazing I have 3 daughters and honestly thought that BM was not the most child friendly gathering but looking at the preview of your book has changed my mind xxx
And that – is precisely why I wanted to create the book. I've been greatly disappointed by the widespread, public perception that Burning Man is nothing more than a debaucherous gathering of drug-addled partiers. It is a city – with as much depth and complexity as any city. There truly is something for everyone. :) Perhaps you'll bring your kiddos someday. ;)
