I agree @soyrosa - there are so many things that you walk past day to day but fail to actually recognise. Strange isn't it?
Liking the 'slice of home' concept too!
It is strange! But as I commented above as well: we often tend to let our minds rule us, instead of being mindful or listening to our guts. It takes practice to be a 'full-time photographer' that's always 'present' and ready to take a shot... We'll get there, I hope ;-)
And thanks! I hadn't posted a 'slice of HOME' in a while, but today was the day ;-)
