It seems that many of our ideas and motives have been dulled by our daily earthly existence and routines. Many of us no longer recognize what it means to live, beyond heading to work everyday and buying things. When put in the context of an eternal recurrence, then our future selves would admonish us for condemning them to such pointless existences.
