Mushrooms in The Rainy Season

There is a quote in the Indonesian language :

Seperti Jamur di Musim Hujan, it's means Like The Mushrooms That Grow in The Rainy Season

This phrase means something that suddenly grows in large numbers but does not live long. Mushrooms grow from spores similar to seeds in plants. These spores can survive or enter a period of rest and will grow when finding suitable habitats, such as moist places. Therefore in the rainy season the mushrooms grow in large quantities.

This mushroom philosophy is currently applicable also in Steemit where many people join in Steemit like mushrooms that grow in the rainy season. The motivation of people who joined Steemit largely because of the rewards in the form of SBD and Steem. These steemit users previously were other social media users like facebook, instagram or blog.

If seen from the time of joining since steemit is present almost two years, there are 3 groups of steemian.

Steemians who joined in mid-2016 until mid-2017

Steemit is a social media platform released in mid-2016 based on blockchain technology and decentralized that rewards its users in the form of cryptocurrency called steem and steem dollars. At the beginning of its presence, steemit users are still limited and information about steemit is delivered from person to person. There has no steemit promo activity yet as the steemans do nowaday. I know steemit from @steemvest17 and join in January 2017.

Steemians who joined in mid-2017 until end of 2017

Furthermore, in mid-2017 information about steemit was growing. In Indonesia especially in Aceh there are many steemians who join in this period. Several small communities began to be formed. Education about steemit has begun to evolve and can be found in whatsapp groups, discord and also in coffee shops.

Steemians who joined in the end 2017 until now

Steem dollar prices that up to the moon and followed by steem prices by the end of 2017 attracted many people to join in steemit. The steemians who had joined earlier had felt the financial benefits of steemit. Steemit communities are growing and growing.

Promo steem activities increasingly seen in the posts. But the birth of a large new steemians is not followed by investment growth. The steemians make diverse posts. Some consistently produce good and useful contents and others do not really care about the contents and only expect the rewards.

There is also a gap in the acquisition of rewards. There is a good post but does not get a decent reward, but on the other hand the ordinary content can get high rewards. this condition is exacerbated by the decline in steem and steem dollars price. This makes the spirit of steemian decline too.
