Is reality an illusion?
Have you ever asked yourself what is real?
Is something you see real?
It could be real to you, but it's not necessarily going to be real to me. If we see the same thing, we are all decoding the same information. That is true, yes? But what then happens is what makes reality an illusion.
When we see a plane flying across the sky, we all see the same thing. But what then happens is, we decide what we think about that plane. We decide what kind of a plane it is, where it is going and who is on board. This is how reality is built. We are all making reality out of our own perception.
But even our own perception is not totally ours. It was manipulated through all of our life. Through human history, people were programmed to see the world in a certain way. Our parents were programmed to see the world the in a certain way and they have passed this to us. Then we go to school and teachers, who were also programmed to see the world in a certain way, are giving us curriculum that forms our reality.
We have all gone through this period of life. So basically the great majority of people see themselves and the world in those terms. This is why humanity can be controlled and this is why human reality is an illusion.
What about the physical world we live in, is that the ultimate reality? The reality that is constructed out of matter and energy. But the question here is whether reality is independent of the mind?

It's hard to say that reality is an illusion, if it's true all the meaning in life would be worthless. But, to do something to unravel the truth is by constant learning, if you learned something you see one dimension, if you learned again you see two dimensional, until you see the bigger picture of the whole perspective in life and to be able to judge either it's an illusion or not. :)

I think that your bigger picture of life is your perception of reality, therefore it is really your interpretation or a mental image that you hold. Since we all have a different perception of reality, it only makes sense that reality is an illusion.
Even Albert Einstein once said: “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”
yes you are right :) . That's why we built a large hadron collider not only for science, medical purposes, but also for philosophical means I thinks :) Because fundamentally we were made out of complex molecules , then molecules made out of elements, and elements made out of atom , and atom made out of sub atomic particles, and so on and so forth :) Until you see nothing at all , except energy perhaps , if you try to imagine it, it's a soft space, but in our illusion reality we perceived it as a hard physical objects. Our nervous system is quite way behind from the way we think of something :)
Everything is energy. The water, the trees, the animals, You and Me, and everything around us :) It's quite strange to think that the rocks are not solid.
we really shouldn't be thinking about what is real..... here is a thought for you.... how do you know you are not a part of a game like clash of clans or something like that? may be the god is the gamer and he is playing in some kind of device....
now that i am writing thats because he is making me write this.....

It' s hard not to think about this. It's mindblowing and confusing at the same time :)
We could be a part of some experiment, but I think we have our own will.

oh i have another thought about this, maybe there are organization so powerful in our planet and we don't know about them .... may be the people we know are not real... may be they are just a memory planted in our head and none of this is real.... maybe everything is happening in our head....
so many possibilities.....

My definition of "real" is that it is unchangeable, a steady state. But whenever we shift our perspective, that which we assumed to be "real" is changing accordingly. As everything is constantly changing no matter where we look, it cannot ultimately be"real", thus we are only ever dreaming with no consequences once we wake up ;)
