Photo(s) Every Day: The Waiting Game (12/365)
Through my camera lens, I'll tell you my story. Showing the world as I see it. Whether in full color or in black and white. Caught in a photo or two, a collage; A bit of my story, one day at a time.

Today was another tiring day for me mostly due to a lot of waiting. I started my day around 9 a.m. I had to pick up my 10 years old Orthodontic-Pedodontic patient (Eunice) for her appointment. Her mother was out. No one could drop her off at my school.
First, I had to get off from the city center of Baguio to Ambiong Central which is about 30 minutes by jeep. Classes were canceled for elementary and high school due to the tourist influx that came in since Sunday which caused gridlock traffic. Traffic struck the city resulting to an hour travel time from the usual 30 minutes (Baguio city center to Ambiong Central). Traffic jams caused by tourists and their cars mean that the road of Baguio City is not upgraded to where it should be.
Solutions to this problem have been brought up about by the city, such as, allowing only a limited amount of tourist with cars to come in and the rest would have to come through public transportation. However, it seems like this has been ignored by the government.
If you would visit the city during tourist peak seasons, you would see cars parked on No Parking areas or on almost anywhere; also, Burnham park is full of campers. There is not enough hotels or transient homes that could accommodate the influx of tourist.
Anyways, enough about the city and more about my day.
I had to wait an hour to get a ride on a jeepney. My other transportation option was to ride a taxi but majority of taxis were taking their day off due to the traffic. They don't make money during heavy traffic jams. So I was to take either the jeepney ride or walk. However, walking would take me 2 hours and the road goes uphill so it's not really an option.
After an hour of waiting for the ride, I then had to stay in traffic for another hour. You see where I'm going with this? haha. Long day with lots of waiting.
Arriving at my patient's house, she told me she didn't want to go with me to school because she didn't feel like it. She was complaining and was about to cry so I went out a bit and took some photos while waiting for her to cool down.
While taking photographs, her mother came and she convinced her to come with me.
It's a good thing I brought my camera or else I would have been very impatient and grumpy.
Going back to the city center was painful as going away from it. At school, we had to wait for my clinical instructor to check my work. (Waiting waiting waiting as always). I ended up finishing Eunice's appliance and installing it around 6 p.m.
Sunset was a bit cloudy but was worth it to watch.
Cactus flower from the garden below Eunice's house.
Another point of view of the cactus flower.
A rooster just sunbathing. and enjoying every moment of his life. Haha.
More plant on the garden. I think this is oregano. Correct me if I am wrong. Look at the pattern on the leaves. Isn't amazing?
Meet Harry. Isn't he cute? It's Eunice's first dog.
I found some patterned rugs in Eunice's house. The color and the pattern of it was cool so I took the moment to take a picture of it.
More of the rugs. I think if you just open your eyes to patterns, you will see it more.
Here is a wide view of the rug.
Patterns on the electrical wire with a guy rushing to get to town.
Pattern from "walis tambo" or soft broom.
A wide view of the soft broom.
Can you guess where this pattern came from?
The pattern came from the roof of the houses below Eunice's house. Fact - Baguio is a mountainous city.
Pattern on the floor. I was literally looking around and tried to kept myself busy while waiting for Eunice's mom.
Look at the beautiful view from Eunice's house. I would love to live here but the traffic though and long ride....The buildings behind the house is actually Baguio City and one of those building on the right upper corner is my school (University of Baguio). I tried to do some type of deep depth of field photo.
Look at this house. Standing out among the rest. Bright yellow and red roof.
This was taken when we were waiting for the jeep to go back to the city. Unexpected horse rider in the middle of the town of Ambiong Central.
Going back to the stable. You can see the stable to the right upper corner of the picture. Also, I think this is the only place I have seen tricycles. Tricycles can't survive the uphills and downhills of Baguio City. You see tricycles here because the land here is semi-flat.
I ended the day with this sunrise. The view from the school.
I was inspired by @gamer00 to do a One Photo Everyday (OPED) challenge. I have done a similar challenge in the past but I wasn't able to finish them. The furthest I have done was 300 days. Today will be a new day because this platform is better at providing support to do a daily photo for 365 days.
Thank you for reading and make sure to keep up with me and my Photo Everyday Challenge/365 Photo Challenge.
Salamat po!
